Improved UX for WLB ticket buyers

Tickets for the “Badner Bahn” train service of Wiener Lokalbahnen (part of Wiener Stadtwerke) are sold on machines at stations and on the train.

It was our task to understand how customers think when buying a ticket and design a simplified user experience (UX), including new user flows, the interface logic and the final screen designs. We started with rough prototypes and kept testing with customers on the trains. The validated (and in several iterations adapted) concept was eventually handed over to software developers.
